Julia Kadlec-Wagner is Director of the Metro Writing Studio located in the Giovatto Library on the Metropolitan Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University where she Lectures in Academic and Creative Writing. She earned her Certificate to Teach Writing at Montclair State University while helping to establish their First Year Writing Program. She also taught there for over a decade. Before that, she taught at Brooklyn College where she earned her MFA in Poetry simultaneously working as Director of Sales for Hachette Filipacchi Media for Elle Décor and Metropolitan Home Magazines, and before that at Metropolis Magazine. She writes poetry, literary analysis, music reviews, and when time permits, good teaching practice for conferences such as the New Jersey Writing Alliance, Common Ground Publishing, The Modern Language Association and The Conference on College Composition and Communications. She is a member of several organizations such as The American Poetry Society, The National Council of Teachers of English, The Audubon Society of North America, and The International Literacy Association. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Cincinnati.
